This one hit me deep.
As you probably know by now, Kate Middleton was diagnosed with cancer and had surgery in February. She is now going through a preventative chemotherapy treatment and wanted to address the world after weeks of speculations.
I’m not going to go through her entire message as I’m sure you’ve seen it.
What I do want to talk about is the strong message behind her speech as a mother, as a person of character, and the bravery that she has shown throughout the announcement.
If you jump to 57s of this video, you will see what I mean.
“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok.”
For the love of God, I have no idea how any mother can deliver that message without shedding a tear. That shows how strong Kate is as a mother of her children.
Now, if you jump to 1 min 16s, here’s what she said;
“As I’ve said to them, I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal in my mind, body and spirits.”
I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but the smile that she showed while delivering this message was very powerful. I believe that smile was directed towards her children.
You can clearly see the motherly love behind that smile. It was like a hidden message to provide comfort for her children because she knew they would see the video.
The Princess of Wales finished off the announcement by telling other cancer battlers not to lose hope.
At this time, I am also thinking of all those whose lives have been affected by cancer. For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.
The fact that she’s thinking about others during this period really shows her true character.
Well, Kate, I wish you the very best in your recovery. I have no doubt that you will win this battle!
